Bebhionn is a small irregular moon orbiting around Saturn. It was probably a captured object. It is named after a giantess in Celtic mythology.
The vase was coiled by hand and fired up to 1240C. Bebhionn is made with a red clay and covered with porcelain slip. The slip is applied thick so it forms beautiful cracks. It is glazed inside and left unglazed outside.
The vase is functional and measures 12 cm in height and around 10 cm in diameter at its middle (largest) point.
All the glazes are formulated and made by me.
Certificate of authenticity will be provided.
This vase is part of the 274 Moons / 274 Vases projects. I am building a vase for each of the 274 moons orbiting Saturn.
